Environmental Stewardship

Fred Johnson believes that protecting the Great Lakes and our groundwater is imperative to preserving our environment. We must keep the agencies responsible for protecting our environment both adequately funded and empowered to ensure that our natural resources are maintained for future generations.  We must also ensure that our environmental policy is based on sound scientific evidence, not political agendas.

Fred supports:

• Initiatives like the Great Lakes Water Resources Compact, which is a collective effort to preserve one of Michigan’s, and the nation’s, greatest natural resources.
• Preserving our coastline and protecting it from overdevelopment.
• Making sure that all clean air and water legislation is enforced.
