Clean Energy

In 1969, we put men on the moon using technology less sophisticated than the average cell phone. Fred Johnson believes that we have the technology and skilled workers needed to take the lead in researching, developing and producing clean energy – bringing jobs to Michigan and creating a stronger America by ending our dangerous dependence on foreign oil.

Fred supports:

• Legislation such as the Energy Independence Security Act, which moves America toward greater energy independence, while supporting the creation of renewable energy.
• Innovative plans that put emphasis on alternative energy ideas, such as the one proposed by T. Boone Pickens which emphasizes the development of wind power.
• Aggressive implementation of existing clean technologies to rapidly reduce our dependence on fossil fuels rather than prolonging that vulnerability through offshore drilling and drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge.
