Jobs and the Economy

After experiencing the disruptive effects of layoffs, corporate raids and hostile work environments, Fred Johnson understands the need for our federal government to work for American workers and small business owners – not the multi-national corporations that ship our jobs overseas.  As gas and food prices rise, hard-working Americans have been left behind by the government. Fred will fight to help our middle-class families and reward the companies that keep jobs here in West Michigan.

Fred's priorities will include:

• Supporting legislation such as the Patriot Corporations of America Act, which provides incentives for companies to stay in the U.S. and closes the corporate off-shoring loopholes
• Investing in the research, development and production of green technologies to bring jobs to our qualified workforce
• Promoting small businesses through supporting tax credits and energy investment that lower operating costs and encourage our small business owners to expand in the U.S.
